As a Senior Developer, Ivey problem-solves, improves, and streamlines the websites produced at Online Optimism.

Ivey’s passion for storytelling led them from musical theatre and storyboarding into opera and marketing, and during their M.F.A. at the University of Texas at Dallas, they co-founded a student opera company. As the marketing manager (and sole web developer, graphic designer, social media manager, and reserver-of-rehearsal-rooms), Ivey discovered a fascination with the story potential of visual communication, building up from flyers and Facebook posts to creating projections for a Mozart opera set in a social-media-heavy business world. Offstage, Ivey worked to create authentic, cohesive narratives for freelance and agency clients, building their brand stories deep into the small details of their websites. Prior to joining Online Optimism, Ivey built and maintained sites for internal teams at Equifax and small to medium-sized businesses in Texas.

Ivey can usually be found pondering questions of code and identity, singing opera (or having lively discussions about identity and story in opera), and pointing out dandelions in the sidewalk.
