Born and raised in New Orleans, Casey originally started at Online Optimism in May 2020 as a Content Specialist before becoming a Content Associate in June 2021. During their time in the Specialist Program, they utilized their background in academic writing and publishing to quickly learn the ins and outs of SEO and content writing. In their day-to-day work, they write and edit written web content for our clients, and help develop well-rounded campaigns to get our clients’ content ranking on Google.
As a lifelong New Orleanian, Casey has a lot of pride for this city and its amazing cultures. Prior to working for Online Optimism, they earned a B.A. at Loyola University New Orleans, where they studied English Literature and Medieval Studies. During this time, Casey worked as both an Editorial Assistant and Editorial Consultant on the Object Lessons book series and developed an undergraduate thesis on representations of environment and cultural trauma across Hayao Miyazaki’s filmography. It was during these years that they developed the passions for editing, writing, and research that helped them confidently become a content writer.
Casey loves few things more than books, sharing emo music trivia, playing D&D, or their (semi-evil) cat Clio. If you can’t find them, they might be dyeing their hair in the bathroom at 1 AM, dusting one of their records for the 5 millionth time, or using a local mall as their very own indoor speed walking track.
