Winter Marketing Guide

The holiday season can be a hectic time for anyone, especially for someone with a business. New Orleans has so many unique opportunities to offer that will better help you to market your business.

For December, 2019 – April, 2020

Sneak Preview: The Do’s and Don’ts of Posting on Social Media for Mardi Gras

Post your hours: even if they haven’t changed. People may be expecting your business to be closed, but it’s open! Or they may be expecting it to be open and be very upset when they fight traffic to get there and discover the lights are off. Posting the hours makes sure everyone is on the same page and no one is caught by surprise.

Let people know if they should expect a change in traffic flow at or around your location. Mardi Gras doesn’t bring New Orleans to a complete stop. Many people will still be out shopping and dining. Show some extra love by letting them know the best ways to navigate around the city [especially the best way to get to you].

Complain about how bad traffic is or how the parades are affecting business. Everyone is aware of the impact Mardi Gras has, you don’t want to associate any feelings of negativity with your brand or business! Keep things upbeat and optimistic.

Forget to check-in on page inboxes and comments, people are still looking for responses. People will likely be messaging your page to see if you’re open, and asking any other questions you can think of. You don’t want to leave them hanging. Be sure to check a few times a day and respond to page messages.
