The Challenge
Warren Montgomery won election in 2014 as District Attorney for the 22nd Judicial District of Louisiana, which encompasses Washington and St. Tammany Parishes. As he prepared to run for reelection in 2020, his campaign team reached out to us to assist in telling the story of the past six years, to make the case for six more. To that end, we partnered together to create an effective website, along with an engaging video that showcased his accomplishments and vision for the future.
Meet D.A. Montgomery
Warren Montgomery stands for accessibility and transparency. To reflect that, we centered the website around storytelling, delving into a detailed retelling of his early life, law career, and public life. Our team worked extensively to explain how the District Attorney’s office affects everyday life, connecting DA Montgomery to the voters.
Easy Donations
To accept campaign contributions directly within the website, we integrated Donorbox, a robust donation platform that fit their needs. Users are walked through a series of easy steps to chip in and get involved.
Voter Resources
In addition to telling Warren’s story, we wanted to dedicate a portion of the website to voter education. By making election dates clear, highlighting voter requirements, and assisting voters to find their polling location, our goal was to empower users and give them accessible resources to cast their vote.
Telling D.A. Montgomery’s Story
In addition to the website, our team produced the DA campaign’s main video piece. This piece telling the story of why a vote for DA Montgomery was the right vote was scripted, filmed, and edited through COVID-19.
As with all Online Optimism media projects, the client had full-ownership. While these videos were originally designed for digital, the campaign liked them so much that they ran primetime TV ads utilizing them.
