Case Study: A User-Friendly Website for VIA LINK

Challenge

VIA LINK provides a wide range of resources to Louisiana residents – from crisis and suicide intervention to 2-1-1 services. While they had a vast pool of information to better assist their users, they needed to make it more digestable and discoverable. Our Design & Development team worked on creating a site that tackles these serious issues in a friendly and approachable manner.

Empowering the User

Discoverability of content was a key part of this build. By presenting the user with a tool to search for services to resolve a situation, we could better redirect them to exactly what they need. The user-friendly back-end makes it possible for VIA LINK to manage options and understand what people are searching for the most.

Art Direction

Our Design team created beautiful illustrations to accompany the content of the site and make it friendlier for users.

Live Chat Integration

Users can chat directly with live crisis intervention specialists in times of need.

Resources at the Palm of Your Hand

Users can search VIA LINK’s Database of Health and Human Resources directly on the site.

The site was tested for users with different types of color blindness, such as Protanopia, Deuteranopia, and Tritanopia.

Accessibility at the Core

While accessibility is addressed in all of our website builds, this was particularly important to VIA LINK, given their mission to serve as many Louisiana residents as possible. The site was built and tested in compliance with WCAG 2.1 Level A.

From the Client

We interviewed more than ten firms about designing our website and Online Optimism stood out not only for having the best price, but also because they genuinely cared about the success of organizations like ours. We appreciated how Online Optimism went the extra mile by creating original artwork, allowing unlimited revisions and giving great customer service. I definitely recommend their services.
