Supporting the City: C4 Atlanta

This last year, our expansion into Atlanta has offered Online Optimism opportunities to become immersed and engaged in our newest community. We have done this by connecting with local nonprofits since they do so much to make their communities a better place. We matched our Optimists’ donations in 2020 by giving to Georgia Innocence Project through our corporate match program, Donate, Elevate. This organization offers free legal representation to those who are wrongly convicted.

Like our 2021 New Orleans nonprofit, we chose an Atlanta nonprofit that centers around the local art culture. Despite the hardship that the pandemic has brought, cultural events and local arts continue to bring life to the community. The arts industry suffered this past year, which is why we want to highlight organizations that lift local artists. We are excited to announce that our 2021 Donate, Elevate nonprofit is C4 Atlanta

C4 Atlanta is a woman-owned, local nonprofit that connects arts entrepreneurs to the people, skills, and tools they need to build a successful artistic career in metro Atlanta. C4 Atlanta was founded in 2010 to respond to a growing need for business services for Atlanta’s arts community. They offer many services to benefit local artists, including:

  • Professional Development Courses: These courses are available throughout the year to individuals looking to further their careers in the arts or creative businesses.
  • Advocacy and Civic Engagement: Their advocacy platform backs policies that support working ethically with artists and giving the artists the rights needed to thrive in the community.
  • Fiscal Sponsorship: C4 Atlanta sponsors local arts programs by making it possible for them to receive donations before they are ready or able to become a nonprofit.
  • Rental Space: They rent out space for workshops, performances, offices, and studios to art professionals.
