Donate + Elevate: Climate + Land Justice
We at Online Optimism strongly believe in Supporting our Communities, and Donate + Elevate is an important way we stick to this value. This company donation match program doesn’t only match a donation made by an employee to a non-profit—we also make a matching donation to a non-profit we’ve selected to support. Each year, our chosen non-profits align with a cause our team actively chooses to support.
For 2025, Online Optimism is supporting non-profits working in Climate and Land Justice. With the increasing impacts of climate change disproportionately affecting vulnerable communities and the urgent need to protect our natural resources, our team is taking action by supporting organizations working toward environmental justice and land conservation. Below, you will learn more about the non-profits we will be learning about and supporting this year in hopes of spreading awareness and creating positive change for our environment and communities.
Land Trust for Louisiana
NEW ORLEANS
Land Trust for Louisiana has been protecting our state’s valuable lands and waters since 2005. Through conservation easements and land acquisition, they’ve preserved almost 15,000 acres across Louisiana, working to ensure these precious resources remain protected for future generations.
Their conservation efforts include:
- Protecting riverbanks and watersheds
- Preserving family farms and agricultural heritage
- Managing urban stormwater
- Creating wildlife corridors
- Safeguarding habitats for migrating birds
- Partnering with local communities for conservation

Climate Justice Alliance
NATIONAL
Climate Justice Alliance (CJA) formed in 2013 to create a new center of gravity in the climate movement by uniting frontline communities and organizations into a formidable force. Their work focuses on building a Just Transition away from extractive systems toward resilient, regenerative, and equitable economies.
CJA’s approach puts communities first, recognizing that:
- Climate solutions must prioritize race, gender, and class equity
- Frontline communities should lead the transition to sustainable practices
- Environmental and economic justice are interconnected
- Local organizing can create global impact
The organization offers several programs and initiatives, including:
- Just Transition, a vision-led, unifying and place-based set of principles, processes, and practices that build economic and political power to shift from an extractive economy to a regenerative economy.
- It Takes Roots, a multiracial effort led by women and gender oppressed people of color and Indigenous peoples on the frontlines of racial, housing, and climate justice across the country.
- Energy Democracy, which has broadened the discussion to incorporate racial, cultural, and economic justice intersections with the energy sector.
- Our Power Campaign, which brings together frontline communities and allies to coordinate community-led action strategies.
