B.A. New York University
Major in Art History
Charlie joined Online Optimism’s search and content team in September 2019. In his role, he writes blog posts, website copy, and other content for clients, with an eye for search engine optimization and creative storytelling.
Originally from South Carolina, Charlie completed his bachelor’s degree at New York University, where he studied modern and contemporary art history. His academic background led to positions in communications, marketing, and publishing at nonprofits, with a focus on making contemporary art accessible to a wide range of audiences. In 2014, he returned south, this time to New Orleans, and since then, he has written about art and artists for publications in the American South and across the country. From 2015 to 2018, Charlie managed editorial and communications for Pelican Bomb, a nationally recognized nonprofit dedicated to facilitating conversations about art and visual culture in the New Orleans area.
When not producing content for Online Optimism’s clients, Charlie keeps a personal writing practice, watches movies, tries out new recipes, and tries to keep the peace between two rescue cats at home.
