Online Optimism’s Advertising Department is growing, and we’re looking to bring on a new leader for our Digital Advertising Department! We are seeking ambitious, considerate, and creative individuals who above all understand the responsibility of handling advertising for businesses large, medium, and small.

You should have 4+ years of experience working within Google Ads, alongside managerial/leadership experience.

While the position will begin remotely, we are looking for candidates in New Orleans, Atlanta, or Washington, DC. Our clients are based in these cities, and once COVID-19 is over, work will be a mix of remote and in-office time.

As our Digital Ads Director, you are responsible for the success of our clients’ digital advertising campaigns, as well as Online Optimism’s own digital advertising efforts. As the Director, your responsibilities revolve around handling the work for our biggest accounts, while ensuring that Strategists, Associates, and Specialists complete their tasks for smaller clients. Over time, we look for you to continue to grow the department to see even greater success, but working with our Growth team to ensure what we’re selling is the best possible set of services for our clients.

As a minor note: this job has zero social media responsibilities. We understand many agencies combine paid search and social – we do not.

The role is:

  • 40% Managing Your Team
    • Communicate, and establish trust with your team members, helping them reach their goals over time.
    • Review digital ads department work to ensure a high rate of success for client goals, and a low rate of client turnover.
    • Spot inefficiencies and create new processes to expand on the agency’s bandwidth and resources.
    • Manage/update internal guides on a regular basis.
    • Oversee the hiring (or terminations) of new Digital Ads members.
  • 40% Digital Ads Management.
    • Strategizing and implementing digital ads campaigns to improve client’s digital ads campaigns. There is a strong focus on Google Ads management, with work on other platforms including Microsoft Ads, and AdCritter.
    • Performing digital advertising audits on accounts to review and implement best practices.
    • Utilize tools, including Acquisio, and Optmyzr, to increase the effectiveness of our campaigns.
    • Creating SEM campaigns and strategies for agency clients.
    • Monitoring and optimizing SEM campaigns to hit client goals and KPIs.
    • Developing ad copy, while working alongside our design team to create graphics.
    • Client reporting.
    • Working hand-in-hand with our other departments (social, content, and design) to craft cohesive, holistic campaigns for our clients.
    • Testing and measuring new digital advertising strategies to stay at the forefront of the digital marketing world
  • 10% Assisting Our Growth Team.
    • Working with our business development team to craft customized proposals that solve client challenges.
    • Creating innovative digital advertising strategies to build upon our own agency’s success through paid online tactics.
    • Provide assistance with analytics and measuring the success of campaigns.
  • 10% Optimizing Your Department Over Time.
    • Reporting to our Leadership results.
    • Providing new culture-adds to contribute to our organization’s atmosphere.
    • Collaborating with employees across Online Optimism’s locations.

What You Need to Apply:

  • 4+ years of digital advertising experience, either in-house or at an agency.
  • Google Ads Certifications (we’re open to any, but we strongly would prefer you having at least Search, Display, and Shopping)
  • Knowledge and experience in Google Analytics.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

In Addition, We’re Looking for Applicants Who Have:

  • Portfolio of previous work, including case studies with demonstrable ROI.
  • Experience with Acquisio, Optmyzr, or other SEM management tools.
  • Experience running programmatic, geofencing, or non-Google Ads.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, mathematics, or similar majors.
  • Experience with WordPress sites.
  • Experience with Google Tag Manager and setting up conversion tracking for ad campaigns.
  • A love of office dogs.
